About
Hi, I’m Bruce Chen! I’ve always been fascinated by the process of creating things from scratch, starting from simple paper models as a kid to more complex projects involving mechanical design and microsystems today. For me, the joy of making comes from solving real-world problems through hands-on experimentation, turning theoretical knowledge into practical applications. I graduated with B.S. and M.S degree in Mechanical Engineering from NYCU, where I had the opportunity to dive into a variety of projects that spanned different fields. I’ve had the chance to apply my skills in mechanical design, electronics, and micro-scaled engineering, learning by doing and refining my craft with each new makes.
Fields of Study
My projects cover the following fields of study:
Mechanical Design & Prototyping
Sensing Solutions
DIY & Crafting
Electronics & Control Systems
Microfluidics
Why I Started Bruce’s Makes
I created this website to document my journey as a maker, share my projects, and hopefully inspire others who are passionate about building and experimenting. I hope you find something valuable here. :D
